Okay, so the DNA has changed. But what new features distinguish this mice from modern mice?

Okay, so the DNA has changed.No the DNA has not changed. In fact the article itself states that there is at least one strain of mouse which still has this gene. What this means is that the mice which were examined could very well have been of this strain and thus the whole article proves nothing at all.
