Yeah, Stanton and Lincoln had a real genius with prisoners, all right. They damn near starved thousands of them to death, and then turned them loose IF they'd go out west and kill Indians, doing a lot of the "heavy lifting" for the war crimes to be continued by Cump Sherman and Phil Sheridan in the 1870s.
