"Any claim that women are equal to men in combat settings is utterly irrational."

Riggs said one woman who spoke at yesterday's press conference, Charmaine Yoest, a national advisory board member with the Independent Women's Forum, relayed a recent example involving DACOWITS that illustrated the need for less military feminization.
"On Sept. 10 the day before those awful terrorist attacks DACOWITS was discussing lactation and the need for breast-feeding policies within the Army," Riggs said. "This, the day before so many people died" in New York City and at the Pentagon.
"This is no longer a power game where ambitious women can try to advance their careers," Rios said during her speech, "this is a matter of life and death. Any claim that women are equal to men in combat settings is utterly irrational."
Rios cited a recent Royal British Army study that found stark differences between men and women under combat conditions. In one phase of the study, men failed 20 percent of the time to carry 90 pounds of artillery shells over certain distances, she said, adding that women failed "90 percent of the time."
"In a mission simulating wartime conditions, male and female soldiers were asked to carry 60 pounds of equipment while marching 12.5 miles, completing the exercise with target practice. Seventeen percent of the men failed, [as did] 48 percent of the women," she said.

What the hell are you talking about? The miltary definitely DID have code breakers enlisted. That fact is easily verified. Do your research.
You are not following along. The military is not all combat personell. The vast majority of positions are NOT in combat. That was my point. The military needs all kinds of talents.

I really did enjoy the post up until it turned into a bitch fest, REALLY giving women a WORSE name!!!
I wish there was a way to eliminate, permanently, cat fighting... or maybe ban them for a time... one catfight answer per freeper... Stay well,

You've stated NO facts; you've stated opinions.
I have stated facts; historical, biological, pyschological, and military. I don't need to state my sources; they are well known, except, evidently by you.
To: Lorianne
Women fight better honey...that's really the bottom line militarily...and they distract the men whther you like it or not ....and in ways other than simply sex alone.
Societally...I don't know what they are teaching you at your women's studies classes but the damage to society having women entrenched in the conventional military is far reaching and has been expounded to death here.
There is a reason that hardly any civilized nation has ever done so and it's not because of male opression as some would have you believe. Real oppression would be men forcing women to fight as fodder while they stayed home and got fat. Everyone knows it's a bad idea from every angle regardless of how good a girl is at video games. You have not stumbled upon some epiphany.
I have lived in some civil war zones around the globe from West Africa to Latin America and Haiti. I never saw women in any significant numbers in any militias or technical units or insurgency or government forces. A few for support, medical, translation, and espionage (the Sandies loved that). These were incredibly brutal and dark places but even they knew better.

Farmfriend..re:read this post...earlier in this thread when I asked you a question about something you posted you said you meant to send it by Freepmail, and requested it to be removed. We all read it.
You are really floundering sweetheart. You need to give up. You are making an ass of yourself.

Okay, you can call the primongenitor of the CIA " miliatry ". OTOH, that is NOT the topic of this thread. You can call anything, whatever you care to, that just doesn't make it so. Since you have refrained from being specific, logical, and cogent, I guess that it's just par for the course, for you to assume that everyone will just accept that; even when they won't.
If, as you claim, you are being totally misunderstood, perchance you should wonder if it is not YOUR fault; instead of blaming others. Just a thought. LOL
To: nopardons
You asked for facts. Here they are but I don't want to see you claim that you are giving facts without siting sorces. Let's see if you can do it.
"Understanding men requires understanding men's relationship to the three Ws: women, work, and war. Only 18-year-old boys are legally required to register for future wars. Both sexes have the option of joinging the armed services in peacetime, but only men in the services are required to be available for combat in wartime. Should a major war break out, it is only our sons who will be notified within forty-eight hours to report to boot camp. Before men can vote, they have the obligation to protect that right; women receive the right to vote without the ovligation to protect that right."

You're correct, as usual. :-)
The inane, banal, ridiculous levels, which some have propelled this thread into, is pathatic. Take care.
To: nopardons
LOL....projection and transference are both classic liberal psychological neurosis(s)
As in "Since I hate myself, I must hate my country and those who defend it"....not accusing these PC wonders here of that but you get my drift.

earlier in this thread when I asked you a question about something you posted you said you meant to send it by Freepmail,This is not the same thing as this.
you have sent private messages to people in support of their arguments when they have absolutely NO facts and spurious argument against them.
The thing I meant to send in freepmail was an opinion that should not have been on the open forum. It is wrong and I apologized for that. That is not the same thing as what you are claiming I did.

We have a VOLUNTEER military. There are far fewer female volunteers. So I really don't think women in the larger scale are clamoring to get in the military, much less combat. The argument is largely moot in that respect.
As long as we have qualified women volunteering, we would be tacktically wise to use those who do volunteer to their best ability. Those who aren't useful should be turned away. Ditto for men who volunteer. I would hope we don't accept anyone who shows up regardless if they are useful.
To: farmfriend
That's one man's opinion. That is hardly a fact, as to WHY females should be sent off to war. What does THAT prove ? Wanna try again ?
Maybe we need to take the vote away from females. Is that what you think this guy is suggesting ? I doubt it, but had to ask. OTOH, nowhere, in your post, does he even begin to talk about the actual facts, which are now well know, about the problems of having females in the armed forces; which are NOT isolated incidents.
To: Happygal
No, I'm not arguning against a draft either. I'm attempting to show how we are miss using our men.
