American protester run over by an Israeli bulldozer in Gaza and killed. Developing...
Whoa, great work Stultis. This was one crazy bi#$h apparently! Burning a rendition of the flag.... Tsk, tsk, tsk, probably a Dixie Chicks fan too. Still don't think she deserved her fate but after that picture -pffft, good riddence.
There's a lot of these types around here. They're the product of decades of Useful Idiot programming beginning in their schools and nurtured by radio and television. It's sad but they've given up on creativity, industry and productivity to follow Dialectical Materialism. What a waste. They really deserve to trade places with people who've lived under The-Whole-Package of communism like North Koreans or Cubans. How these people can ever expect to fit into or contribute to a productive society is beyond me. I'd expect the frequency of these self-destructive acts to increase due to the economy and failure rate of their ideology.
Why don't you show an ounce of honesty and say you are posing a rhetorical question to which you know the answer? Low.
I went to Florida for spring break when I was in college... what the hell are these freaks doing? She was way too cute - she should have been working on her tan and sipping a margherita but instead she's dead.
Schnabel said Corrie was a student at Evergreen College and was to graduate this year.- a freshly posted Israeli source
I'll keep looking into Rachel Corrie Iverson-Long name. My bet is that it is the same person.
Oh yeah, she's out there, way out there. But should we condone the death of someone who died for their passions? I've seen nothing to indicate these people support violence against Israelis or Americans. It doesn't appear she was a Laurie Berenson.
To be fair, I did count two of the righteously indignant who appeared to be sincere in being upset with the earlier posts here.
As for me, she was 23 years old. She makes her own decisions. Her parents and upbringing are irrelevant no matter how many parents posting here see their own little moppet in her. I didn't know her and innocent 23 year old women die every day in this world. I'd rather spend my time grieving for them.
Bulldozers are slow and poorly maneuverable. She knew exactly what she was doing.
I dunno if you're series, accusatory or what, but I'll give the benefit of a doubt and respond.
I've long noted (and argued) that there is little diffeence among fanatics of different stripes, the true believers as some socilogist called them (Eric Hoffer?) in the early sixties. Am I a fanatic myself? I dunno, I like to think that I couldn't care less. Does any fanatic think of himself as a fanatic?
I think we all come here to get away from the fanaticism of the secular humanism, which disguises itself as a most tolerant philosophy, but we all know otherwise. Go to any American university town and study the bumperstickers. A typical bumpersticker says something like "Minds are like parachutes, they only function when open". Right alongside it you'll see on the same cars bumperstickers with the most hateful, dogmatic Leftist slogans. The Left's diversity and tolerance are most intolerant. But I'm stating the obvious...
Well then you playing right into their hands. Kinda explains why they've been killing each other over there for the last, ohh 4,000 years.
Yes, it occurred to me that she might have caught the "palestinian disease" and actually sought martyrdom, as much as many here would like to think otherwise.
More likely, I (like to) think, she was a spoiled American brat, like Marin Johnny Jihad, on a "spiritual journey", unaccustomed to facing consequences of her ideas and actions. I mean, look at these Stateside protesters getting themselves arrested. Are there any consequences to these arrests? From what I've read they are no more than minor inconvenience with bails pre-arranged and evening reservastions at yuppie restaurants to keep! No meaningful consequences, softheaded judges, silly plea bargains, arrests becoming badges of honor. So, I suspect, this was Rachel's background and education in life.
From this thread I see nothing to indicate they have a desire to destroy capitalism or kill people. Furthermore, I do not consider blocking someone's house from demolition a destructive or nihilistic action. It certainly can't be called Marxist.
