I live within 2 hours of USF and spend a lot of work time in Tampa. The Al Arian controversy has been going on for years, and I have followed it to some extent. I haven't ONCE heard President Bush's name mentioned in connection with him. And believe me, if the media down here thought they could do damage to the President by linking him to Al Arian, they would be joined at the hip in the public's mind. And thank you for this perspective.
I am sure President Bush is very pleased with his DOJ for today's arrests.
I am sure President Bush is very pleased with his DOJ for today's arrests.I'm sure he is - God knows I am. So are a LOT of people at USF - their reputation has suffered horribly.
This is especially a huge vindication for USF president Judy Genshaft - all previous USF presidents have dealt with Al Arian by burying their heads in the sand. She went after him, and has suffered lots of abuse from the Left as a result.
