A state lawmaker from Houston wants to change the punishment for possession of marijuana.
Right now it's a Class B misdemeanor in Texas, punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000 and/or confinement for a maximum of 180 days.
Rep. Harold Dutton, D-Houston has written a bill that makes possession of less than an ounce of marijuana a Class C misdemeanor.
It would also be the equivalent of a traffic ticket.
"You wouldn't lose your drivers license, you don't lose any of these other things that you do in a Class B setting," Dutton said.
Dutton doesn't condone marijuana use, but he says his bill would provide many people a second chance.

I have yet to see one of the "defense of the Constitution" posts that did not have smoking dope as the central idea. You can find them aplenty on property rights threads. Strangely, none of the people who defend the WoD ever seem to show up on them to defend the expanded "substantial effects" New Deal Commerce Clause that empowers the DEA.

The key of course, is that if one decides to actually DO something to a narc, no matter what approach you take, that one has to keep getting away with it topmost in mind. THAT is the only goal. Not success in your project, not anything else.

"Getting away with it" is a relative concept, IMHO. If your tallking about vengence, I believe someone else already has dibbs on that, and you'll have to take it up with Him, eventually.

I'm talking about the little things that make life less comfortable. Blackballing someone at the tennis club, writing a qualified recommendation for their kid, etc. IRS employees are actually interbreeding because nobody else will touch them. Narcs are only a little less unattractive.

I've noticed that "Live by the sword, die by the sword" is about more than just swords. Quite frankly, I think a lot of it has to do with sword gripping, if you catch my drift.

Quite frankly, I think a lot of it has to do with sword gripping, if you catch my drift "Grip the sword, be griped by the sword"? I agree.

How arrogant are we to declare one of God's creations "illegal"?God created a plant strong enought to made into a rope
He didn't tell anyone to roll it into a joint and smoke it!
