**The WORKS that Paul speaks of are the rituals and observances of the Law of Moses. Paul was there
to tell them that they were no longer of any value whatsoever.***
This is nonsense! In Romans Paul is addressing a GENTILE church. Look what he has to say:
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh hath found?
For if Abraham were justified by WORKS he hath wherof to glory; but not before God.
What saith the scripture? ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD AND IT WAS COUNTED UNTO HIM FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace but of debt.
But to him that worketh NOT, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, HIS FAITH IS COUNTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
And just to clear up thes jew-gentile concept you have consider these verses:
ACTS 15:1-, and Galatians 2:9. His visit to Jerusalem: "And when JAMES, Cephas and John...precieved the grace that was given me they gave unto me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship that WE SHOULD GO TO THE HEATHEN(GENTILES) AND THEY UNTO THE CIRCUMCISION.
I speak to you Gentiles in as much as am the APOSTLE TO THE GENTILES, I magnify mine office: Romans 11: 13

This is nonsense! In Romans Paul is addressing a GENTILE church. No, he was addressing the Galatian saints, most of whom had been Jews.

Or why else would he be speaking of "Abraham as our Father?" Abraham had nothing in common with Greeks in Galatia.
