(07-14-2003) - The parents of Danielle van Dam, the San Diego girl who was kidnapped from her bedroom and later found murdered, are putting their home up for sale.

Damon and Brenda van Dam have listed their home in the Sabre Springs neighborhood for the asking price of $625,000.

Seven-year-old Danielle vanished from her second story bedroom in February 2002. Her body was later found along a remote road. A neighbor who lived two doors away, David Westerfield, was convicted of kidnapping and murdering the girl, and sentenced to death.

Westerfield's home was sold last year for $435,000 after he transferred ownership of the property to his defense lawyers.

Something I noticed. Sometimes a person's instantaneous remark tells more about things, sometimes not.

Westerfield discussing his weekend trip says "WE" and the LE state that is proof that he should be a suspect.

Damon says "We hope she comes back..."

Wouldn't that imply that Damon's either returned home that night (when he was supposed to be there babysitting) or went to Danielle's room, and assumed she RAN AWAY. ???

He DID NOT SAY, "We hope when she is returned..."

Maybe it means nothing.
