In modern erotica (okay, PORN) most of the starlets (not that ANY FReeper men would EVER watch any such movies or videos...) are, in fact, quite curvy and voluptuous, even to the point of surgically enhancing those features. Remember, these women, more than perhaps any other, earn a living by being the objects of male sexual fantasies and desires. They would NOT seek to look like something men would find unnatractive.
Contrast this with the alleged "supermodels". Most fashion models are taller, thinner, and bonier than most porn actresses. Many do, in fact, resemble heroin addicts. A simple image search on Google revealed these contrasts, in graphic detail.
Point is, (with Playboy being the notable exception), modern men DO prefer the voluptuous look, at least if their preference in sexually stimulating imagery is any guide. Why MODELS, on the other hand, are skewed towards the "gaunt, waif" look probably DOES have more to do with the preference of the clothing designers they work for than previously thought.
BTW, a quick look at a few recent copies of Playboy (in the interest of science, of course) reveals that whilst their models have slimmed down some, few would ever be seen on a high-fashion runway even now.
Simply put, a woman with some curves looks HEALTHY and FERTILE, qualities which have for the breadth of human history have been sexual triggers for men. The supermodels, by contrast, look SICK and WEAK, historical repulsors for mate-seeking males.
Just the two bits worth from a normal, healthy American man.
I've met Claudia Schiffer, Frederique, Daniela Pestova...they are impossibly sexy in person, all curves. Only thing different is they're about 5'10" tall. The lesser models like Kate Moss are gross thin, but serve a different role. I've also met alot of "adult" actresses, most have perfect bodies and are around 5'6". A few are as stunningly beautiful as the pro models. (I met one at the Mirage tuesday and almost knocked over some high dollar statue when she smiled at me).
As far as the article goes, they have it 180 degrees wrong. For 40 years, Hefner's type was tall long hip blondes; natural, no muscle tone. Now it's more the "adult" actress type..hardbodies, shorter, younger, leaner.
No fem writer would ever admit the truth about what men desire in physiques of these famous models, because then they've have to admit that it takes working out hard in the gym every day to create these bodies.
It does, and it's a simple as this: it's easier for them to design runway clothes for women with this type of figure.
