Men lusting for less curves

Men's taste in women has changed dramatically over the past half-century, shifting away from girls with curves and big breasts towards the androgynous and the skinny.
The assertion comes from two psychoanalysts who pored over every Playboy from December 1953 and calculated the body mass index of every centrefold. Over 577 issues, the models became taller and their waist increased, while their hips became narrower and their bust became smaller. If Playboy is any guide, the needle on the male sexual compass has switched from Marilyn Monroe to Eva Herzigova, the scientists say.

You'll notice that many designers and fashion writers are gay men... and these are the people who are telling the rest of us what's sexy?

you wrote, "I was referring to those men who place emphasis on looks.....
That includes 99% of (heterosexual) men, and the other 1% are lying. Wouldn't it be better to say: I was referring to those men who place emphasis on looks to the total neglect of anything else? That would only include about 25% of post-teenage males.

Agreed, Oberon.
Curves & big breasts are STILL where it's at for this man. :)
To: fqued
No...I stand by what I said. Emphasis is the right word.

LOL. Obviously post #145 was not made by me as I'm female.
I'll have my husband freepmail you his e-mail so you can forward the picture.
It's a good thing he likes curvy women because that's what he's got. It's also good for him that I don't get upset if he looks but I don't like him making me sound like a lesbian.

Hmm. Seems like their 'study' is sorta flawed. Just because Playboy put them in the mag, doesn't necessarily mean that they're what men wanted. Oh. Maybe all they figured out was that Hugh Hefner's tastes changed over the years?
Certainly, two respected members of the intelligensia (pencil-necked geeks) couldn't have a flawed study, could they?
I wonder if they correlated their time of change graph to the date that Hef's daughter took over the magazine.

Well! Some of you are very proud of your trophies! Most of us "old marrieds" find our wives very attractive, even after many years of marriage (after 17 years here...at 40, She-who-must-be-obeyed commands a presence in a room like very few others, both older and younger).
At the same time, She-who-must-be-obeyed has said that I can look at the menu all I want -- just as long as I don't order...

PS: She says that if I stop glancing at the menu from time-to-time, she starts to worry that it might point to "other" things...

ARIA GIOVANNI. If you hadn't posted her on this thread, I would have.
To: Oberon
Gay guys are after the boys, hence, they think that female body should be similar to boys.

She-who-must-be-obeyed Now you ....have a very intelligent wife to boot!

Why MODELS, on the other hand, are skewed towards the "gaunt, waif" look probably DOES have more to do with the preference of the clothing designers they work for than previously thought.
It does, and it's a simple as this: it's easier for them to design runway clothes for women with this type of figure.

UNFAIR POST.

See my above post. I am 29 and absolutely love women in their 40's and 50's. My wife is 30 and it drives her nuts. But then she realizes that when shes in ther 40's and 50's...Agreed, it hit me when I was about 29 too. I started to check out the older chicks then too. I'm 36 now and my wife is 34. Funny how she gets hotter the older she gets.
To: Intimidator
I have always found older women to be the most attractive of them all. Even when I was a teenager. My friends thought I was nuts. But hey, I like MILFs!
To: Phantom Lord
But hey, I like MILFs! I like them MILF movies . . . (cough cough).
