Brenda Van Dam, joins Larry to share her reactions to the sentencing. Sort of like that commercial....."There isn't enough aspirin in the Western Hemisphere." I can hardly bear to look at that woman and her publicity-seeking mug.
No matter what one thinks of DW's guilt or not, the van Dams are despicable parents and I'd lay down a heavy bet that their boys live at high risk, even as we speak.
I still await the book and movie contract. Their true colors will be too vivid then for even the biggest VDA to deny.
On a lighter note.......HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL !!!!

I think I'm with South on this one..... I will have to pass. I can understand the woman's grief, but when you parade it around non-stop, it starts to take on a kind of Tammy Faye Baker fakenss to it.

same to you Kim - what did you have as your traditional New Year's dinner???
To: CAPPSMADNESS; redlipstick; cyncooper; ~Kim4VRWC's~; Jaded; UCANSEE2
Clam n Cheese Chowder with Red Pepper Bacon in it, and oyster crackers of course. Cold cuts and hoagie rolls.
Frozen peas for the kids, no, we don't thaw them, just slap them on the table and the kids eat em. Grown ups drop them into the chowder to cool it.
Hot Chocolate with Candy Cane stirring sticks when we get back from ice skating.
On a more serious note, is this going to be the thread for tomorrow or is someone going to start a new one? Ping me to any new thread, pretty please.

Alert: Fox news channel is getting ready to have a debate about the westerfield case and the death penalty.

The chowder does sound wonderful.
We have ham on rolls, little meatballs in a piquant sauce, and lots of boiled, peeled and deveined shrimp with cocktail sauce.

Hi! We didn't have a normal traditional new years day dinner this year. We spent the day finishing redecorating our kids rooms if you can believe it. We were 10 days behind schedule cuz of illness in the family..soooooo I cooked a turkey and made dips,a cut up raw vegies etc. the day before...all finger foods. We didn't even have black-eyed peas! Although I don't believe in superstitions anyway. :) Val's soup sounds wonderful!

yum yum!

I think I should adopt your traditional New Year's fare. That's much betta.

Well, the so called debate was so fast if you blinked your eyes you missed it...sort of like me. What little I heard...They basically explained that Judge Mudd could change his sentence to life without parole if he wanted, and the appellate court would not change that decision..

San Diego man fired for allegedly planning to sell van Dam photos
The Associated Press
Published 4:05 a.m. PST Saturday, December 28, 2002
EXCERPT
SAN DIEGO(AP) - A county employee has been fired for allegedly planning to sell crime scene photographs from the Danielle van Dam murder case, according to a Civil Service Commission report.
Esteban Zemacki, a drafter for the Public Works Department, allegedly approached an employee in the county's photo laboratory with a plan to sell the pictures to the media and post them on the Internet, the report said. Zemacki never obtained the photographs.
REMINDER: Judge Mudd will reveal his decision on Westerfield's final sentence Tomorrow...

Well, the so called debate was so fast if you blinked your eyes you missed it...Appreciated the notice. I was able to tune in for the last couple minutes where they basically talked about "how it will go" with the jury having recommended and the judge making the ruling.

Is this the segment from Court TV earlier? It was on Fox and I think it was David Asman speaking with two people though I just saw him speaking with one of his guests. He referenced the other guest so I knew he had spoken with someone else.

I start with a really big pot and
a commercial size can of Campbell's condensed clam chowder
a family sized can of cream of mushroom
a quart of half and half, a quart of whole milk maybe more
a can of whole clams, 2 cans chopped clams
2 cups mushrooms
2 cups parmesan
1 cup mozarella
1 cup chedder
six diced potates, precooked in the microwave
a pound of bacon, cooked, chopped into bite size chunks.
serve with a bowl of frozen peas and oyster crackers.
The red pepper bacon is custom made from the meat pig our oldest raises along with her 4-H show pig every year. So substitute the best thick sliced deli bacon you can find.
