What's all this rant ? You have made a very valid point, that we agree upon. That is FAITH. This is a very interesting subject. We are all free to choose what we believe, but we are not free NOT to choose anything. Everyone has the right to place their faith in whatever one chooses. I don't see where we disagree.

If that were the case, modern mathematics would not work. Many if not most formal proofs involve cases being eliminated by showing that they logically imply things which are known to be untrue, and all such steps amount to proving negatives.
