I have a great Aunt who lives in Mexico City (she HATES it). She tells me the newspapers there all the time say that they're planning on conquering the Southwest of the US.
That is all the talk down there, among the upper classes.

Perhaps someone could fill in the details, but as I understand it the Mexican revolution was one of the first leftist revolutions although they did not adopt the explicit ideology or terminology of the socialist international. I think we would call it 'populist' but many of the Bolshevicks looked to the Mexican revolution as something that harmonized well with their own.
What is appearing in the newspapers is this leftist view 'institutionalized.'

All the Iraq crap is a sideshow. The real battle is here and we are losing. George Bush better wake up and get his lips off Vicentes butt and forget the illusion of all those Hispanic voters. These people see all those nice houses and other goodies just there for the taking. Mexico can solve all its problems in this way(at least until they trash their new conquest)and decide that the rest of the US is also occupied territory and start again. Not since the Roman days has there been a country with dumber people than those of the US when it comes to defending the only thing they really have. Their nation.

That is all the talk down there, among the upper classes. The upper class down there shouldn't be surprised if one day we side with their peasant class. There's a big danger to those filthy elites in having their campesinos see American middle class ways ---I think in the end, it's going to hurt the elites, at some point the safety valve will have to shut off, then all hell breaks loose down there.

Given what's transpired under the sovereignty destroying Clinton and Bush administrations I'm not surprised they have that attitude at all. Attitudes such as this are universally born out of secular appeasement and weakness. They know our government well I'd say.

It's like I said before. Once we conquered the Apaches, Commanches, and Navajos, we opened the door for the Mexican invasion. If they had tried this 120 years ago, they would be hanging over a fire having their brains roasted.
