They're called "Neo-Confederates" Where do you get this neo stuff? I've been a Confederate for 63 years. Nothing neo about that. More like Confederate de bejar.

Congratulations.
I avoid reading long posts since they are often based on an absurd premise.
Yours, however, was every bit worth the time to read it.
I am saving it for future use.
Covers just about all the concerns of a rational citizen.

"El Presidente is fond of saying that he is not the leader of 100 million Mexicans, but rather 123 million, the difference being those living in the United States"
This sounds a lot like Hitler's "Volkdeutsch" arguments, by which he'd justifiy his terrtorial claims on neighbors by pretending to champion the "oppressed german minority".
He took the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia on the pretext of protecting the German inhabitants, and shortly thereafter grabbed the rest of the country. Looks like Fox is using the same tactics.

OK - I'll bite - what does Americans of Mexican decent being in the military have to do with this thread? Nothing.
It is a complete irrelevancy.
But then no one accused some people of being cursed with common sense.
To: SJackson
Oh no! The Mexicans are mad at me! Save me! Save me Smithers from the angry Mexicans!!
To: SJackson
I don't like stereotyping 20 million people.
Roughly 35% of Americans of Mexican descent vote Republican. Are they stereotypical?
For me, the wonder is not that there are tensions as a result of this vast migration, but that there are so few.

All property owners need to realize, that our deeds are only as good as the United States, and California law dictate. These people take over, and we will all be put out of our homes. That includes Bush's ranch in Texas.

It seems to me that there are and have been quite a few Mexican-Americans in the U.S. military. I'll bet you're counting some 5th and 6th generation Americans as "mexican-americans" and some people from the SW whose families never came from Mexico who are descended from Spaniards possibly mixed with Indians who also didn't come from Mexico. "Mexicans" are a foreign people from another country.

Where are you located if you don't mind me asking?

That is all the talk down there, among the upper classes. The upper class down there shouldn't be surprised if one day we side with their peasant class. There's a big danger to those filthy elites in having their campesinos see American middle class ways ---I think in the end, it's going to hurt the elites, at some point the safety valve will have to shut off, then all hell breaks loose down there.

But, Fox (and all the little foxes) will use the UN to grab whatever they want. When the ranchers who are protecting their property start to catch on, look for the foxes to scream to the un.

It's hardly the same concept! Confederates were American natives who had lived here...Well, the Mexicans were here long before we were. We kicked them out a hundred and fifty-sixty years ago. Now, they say, they're coming to take it back.
And they'll do it the same way that the slaveholding rebels did: They'll vote it out.
N.B.: I find it interesting that one of the grand schemes of the rebels was to take parts of Mexico and all of Cuba, annexing them for exapansion of their bogus "country" they called the C.S.A.
What goes around apparently comes around.

Excellent report of exactly what has been eating at most of us FReepers. The writer didn't clarify something extremely important, however:
"Of course, these students who thought Americas ownership by right of conquest..."
It is not exactly conquest when your population settles a wilderness while the 'original conquerers' have more land than they can handle and then seek to become tyrants over your peace-loving settlers. Let's face it, the US did a much better job of welcoming immigrants. They might have had some commanding foot making a gesture of conquest over all that land, but we were the ones building homes there.
Unfortunately, our 'know-better-than-the-masses'leaders are reluctant to stop the flood of immigrants. And there's the rub. The Statue of Liberty with it's 'come one, come all' plaque, IMHO, is a Trojan Horse biting us in the rear. We will have to put on the breaks until we can cheaply colonize space. FReegards....

"Well, the Mexicans were here long before we were. We kicked them out a hundred and fifty-sixty years ago. Now, they say, they're coming to take it back." Y'know, I read a little of the history of California and Texas, and I don't recall even a single sentence about any forced relocation of Hispanic residents of either territory after their secession from Mexico and subsequently joining the United States. What we "kicked out" was their GOVERNMENT. The "people" that were there are STILL there (i.e. their descendants), and I am sure are proud US citizens today and have been for generations.
"Aztlan" is completely a brainfart of the wetback crowd.

I agree, but then I say the same thing about that silly slaveholders' rebellion back in '61.

Well, the Mexicans were here long before we were.If you are referring to all the land that currently comprises the United States, Mexicans have only been here since 1821. Americans have been here since 1776.

You are very kind - thank you.
I will confess, I can't seem to say things in a few words - so my posts are usually quite long.
This subject is so important to me. I consider it the most important issue in our country today. It touches almost every aspect of our lives - defense, economics, law enforcement, education, culture - just everything.
