Some states already have an organized and government sanctioned State Military Reserve (militia). I'm going to contact the California SMR to see what their position is on this issue. I'm also thinking about joining if they actually contribute anything to the homeland security effort. Age 18 - 60. Waivers can be authorized past 60 on a case basis.
