Is it not so that many young Americans disdain blue collar work? They all want to be rock stars, or work in some glamour industry, or at the very least, be a "beer commercial yuppie" -- one of those clean, attractive people seen on TV commercials, enjoying the good life with friends in gentrified neighborhoods.

You know CB, I don't think they know enough to disdain work. Because of our educational system, we have evolved a sort of "post-industrial" class of young people who simply know nothing. It is so bad, they don't know they don't know.

It's not universal, thank god. And I don't mean to say the kids are stupid. They are certainly as basically intelligent as anyone else. It is we who have robbed them of a reality-and-fact-based education and the skills needed to deal with the real world.

That 's the hole the Mexicans are really filling. They come here just as ignorant as our young people, but they work dirt cheap until they develop the skills they KNOW they lack. For example, ask any contractor. They work cheap enough so that jobs can be done three or four times, until they are "right." Six months later, they get it right the first or second time! They are not really bad folks. It's just that they ain't our folks.

They have to be stopped cold, and we have to put our own people through the process first, or this country is over, dude..
