Thanks for the ping!

If the illegals are coming anyway, how about just saying fine, come on in. (Ok, hear me out) This is just an idea, mind you....

Since none of our neighboring countries seem to be worried about the immigrant situation, I was trying to think up something that would benefit us without having to deal with them.....

A non-American citizen will have to register at the border or at the airport etc. if they wish to live here. (If they are traveling they need to sign something saying they are visiting and do not intend to work here; giving us the legal right to prosecute if they lied on the form) Put a price on the registration; kind of like getting a temporary driver's license. Say $50-75 (for instance) for your beginner's license. These illegals seem to have money to pay coyotes to bring them across the border, (and from other counties coming in on boats) so a fee wouldn't be out of the question. Then, after a certain amount of time, you have your permanent license, so to speak. (As long as the person has not committed any crimes.) This way, the second the illegal comes into the country, they are contributing to the tax system and the country in general. AND, those hiring without their cards will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. There would be no excuses at this point on ANYONE'S part: the immigrant, the local govt, the feds, NOBODY.

This could possibly eliminate much of the illegal trades in this country if it is enforced properly. Think about all the money people make under the table getting the illegals here, employing them in sweatshops and used as basically slaves for them to pay off their debt to their coyote.

Im not saying my idea is the 'end all, be all' however, it could be the start of something positive we could build on for the furture of America.

Your idea is worth some hard thought. Keep thinking for us and your family.
