I'm saying that when someone who knows they are going to lose throws an election to someone like, oh, Maria Cantwell - and in so doing impacts the balance of power in this country in favor of a bunch of socialists, that is worse than throwing their vote away.

Talk about "disgusting".

Well, now, I never said that the SOLE decision-making process should involve picking the candidate that you like the most... we all learned that (harsh, painful, ghastly, unconscionable) lesson from Perot. However, if, after weighing all the pertinent factors, someone votes for a candidate that loses, it is simply untrue, counterproductive, and overly-emotional to call it a "wasted" vote. Our votes for GHWB in 1992 weren't "wasted."

(Personally, I throw a few votes to the Libertarian and Constitutional parties when they are available and the election outcome was basically decided back in the primaries.)
