If you take a look at 338canada.com, you will see one poll (1000 people surveyed) with the Liberals at a two point lead. Likely if you take out the Toronto area polled, the Tories are still that good bit ahead and other polls conducted at about the same time still show a moderate to strong Conservative lead. It will be interesting to see though, if this trend is to continue.

Also, if the Liberal brand really recovered because of Trump (not to discount that idea completely), Ontario Liberal leader Bonnie Crombie would have won her seat and made further gains against Doug Ford (in the provincial election last week).

Depressing. Trump’s foreign policy is going to make him a liability to any right wing politician in the rest of the world who has ever said favourable things about Trump and make them unelectable.

I only hope this doesn’t blow back on Nigel Farage here in the UK. I think he is going to need to dial down that Trump superfan act and hopefully in a few years people will forget what is happening now and Reform can still win in 2029.
