When the Rev. Lee Scott publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president during the Evangelicals for Harris Zoom call on Aug. 14, the Presbyterian pastor and farmer said he was taking a risk.
“The easy thing for us to do this year would be to keep our heads down, go to the ballot box, keep our vote secret and go about our business,” Scott told the group, which garnered roughly 3,200 viewers according to organizers. “But at this time, I just can’t do that.”
Scott lives in Butler, Pennsylvania, the same town where a would-be assassin shot former President Donald Trump in July. Scott told The Associated Press that the attack and its impact on his community pushed him to speak out against Trump and the “vitriol” and “acceptable violence” he normalized in politics. […]
The Rev. Dwight McKissic, a Baptist pastor from Texas who spoke on the Evangelicals for Harris call, said he saw no “moral superiority of one party over the other,” citing the GOP’s decision to “abandon a commitment to ban abortion with a constitutional amendment” and to soften its stance against same-sex marriage in its party platform.
Though he has historically voted Republican, McKissic said he would vote for Harris, whom he said has stronger character and qualifications.

Not one true Christian is voting for Kamrade, the vacuous baby butcher.
People who espouse the agenda of the enemy, are no more “ Christian evangelicals” than Hitler was a freedom loving leader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree!!!!!!
The Bible predicted this 2000 years ago about wolves in the pulpit...
Lee Scott, assassination supporter.

We’re choosing the peace that comes from joy, the strength found in loving our neighbors, and the grace in showing compassion. This isn’t just a vote; it’s a reflection of our faith.
Bwahahahaha!
Who believes this shiite?
Maybe the dead?
I agree that it is bad to soften the stance against these ... but that doesn’t justify embracing the party that champions abortion, trans and queer, socialism and ... basically ... whatever uncleanness and perversion that have we got available.
Soften what stance?
Trump promised to get Roe v. Wade overturned and that happened. The notion of a federal amendment banning abortion is a made-up one.
The demonic Russell Moore started this Baptist decline years ago, and it is spiraling downward at light speed.
alstewartfan @2,
Agree!

Since its inception, Christianity Today has been distinctly evangelical, bringing together a broad readership of Christians from across the denominational spectrum who find common ground in their shared faith in Christ, commitment to orthodoxy, and passion for proclaiming the gospel.
Proclaiming the good news? Most will think that means, telling people that Jesus died for your sins. At least that used to be common.
That is part of the message. The whole message is REPENT and turn to God.
When was the last time you heard repent as part of the good news? Our ears don’t like it.
“””the Presbyterian pastor and farmer”””
Yup. There is a reason this Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) pastor is a farmer.
Namely, the PCUSA has chased away millions of their members with their leftist mantra.
How many members does this dude have in his church???
Fake Evangelicals abandoning their values
“Rev. Dwight McKissic, a Baptist pastor from Texas” has been passionate AGAINST abortion:
“McKissic said in reference to Hurricane Katrina “New Orleans flaunts sin in a way that no other places do. They call it the Big Easy. There are 10 abortion clinics in Louisiana; five of those are in New Orleans. They have a Southern Decadence parade every year and they call it gay pride. When you study Scripture, it’s not out of the boundaries of God to punish a nation for sin and because of sin. When I look at our country, at what’s happening, and what’s happening in New Orleans in particular, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility.” - Wiki
Guess Kamala’s “blackness” - McKissic is black - outweigh’s Kamala’s passionate pushing of abortion and homosexuality! The one think Kamala TRULY believes in is killing babies. And McKissic gives her a racial pass!
He claims Republicans have “abandon[ed] a commitment to ban abortion with a constitutional amendment” - so he’ll support someone who wants every woman to have at least one abortion? He’s spoken at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary before. Hope he never does again!
“””The demonic Russell Moore started this Baptist decline years ago, and it is spiraling downward at light speed.”””
Is this McKissic dude a Southern Baptist? Or is he from another of the many Baptist branches?
If SBC, McKissic will likely get his walking papers soon.
So because McKissic can’t get abortion banned at the federal level (guess he never read the Tenth Amendment), he’s voting for the most pro-abortion presidential candidate in US history.
Perfectly logical, right?
