American rapper and Olympic sideline reporter Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. has been accused of using a Class B drug in London, which is to say that Snoop Dogg smoked some weed.
While that's hardly news in America, where marijuana is legalized depending on your location, it is an issue in the United Kingdom, where cannabis use carries a sentence of up to five years in prison and an undisclosed fine.
Snoop and his guests allegedly stunk up the Mandarin Hotel south of Hyde Park in London, where several Muslim guests 'went ballistic' over the powerful aroma wafting through the century-old building, according to Radar Online.
Although the Quran does not forbid marijuana, many major Shia and Sunni scholars have likened it to khamr (intoxicants or an alcoholic drink) and have banned the drug as a result.
'Snoop doesn't let anything stop his daily doses of weed – not even Britain's laws,' one source said of the 52-year-old rapper and former gang member.
'He sparked up while he was holed up at the Mandarin just before he headed to Paris for his Olympics sponsorship deal.
'The problem is the hotel is a mecca for very clean-living businessmen who stick to the religious laws of Islam by the letter.
'They don't drink, they certainly don't do drugs – and many of them don't even drink caffeine.'
Somehow, Snoop managed to avoid any consequences for his pot use.
'It's unbelievable Snoop was able to get away with this in not only a country where cannabis for non-medicinal purposes is prohibited, never mind in a hotel that caters for clientele including very rich Muslim businessmen who despise weed,' the source told Radar Online.

And I rather think that reaction was the point of the article, wasn’t it.
Q for the Windsors: Why give them the ammo?!
I don’t know why it matters that it was Muslims who complained. I sure as heck do not want to smell a bunch of skunk weed when I am staying at a supposed first class hotel. The complaints were justified.
He did many years ago, and it was news.
He’s obviously not a quitter. 😁
You know this how?
Someone’s always trying to tell them something they already know, so their anger and resentment flow....
Don’t ever try his branded gin.
Store I visited had a tasting and wow, it was foul. Might have tasted better with juice. 😁
Thanks for the warning. I’m very picky about gin ...
His branded wine isn’t bad; just generic California stuff.
Too bad he didn’t cook some smokie pork ribs on the balcony, videos of that reaction would make Internet history.
I like Plymouth and hendricks for a martini, and will settle for Bombay sapphire when the first two aren’t available.
I’m in between
It’s like my cigars
They smell good when smoking
Stinky later
“Make you reconsider white people?”
It’s a question of proportions. One is the exception the other is the rule.
That’s why the memes “yes, it’s them again Boo Boo” or “no need to look” are so prevalent in FR. And I’m sure you find that those memes correlate closely with reality.
Do you agree?
Dre put Snoop on the sofa obviously lol
“That crap is foul, as could as cigarettes but worse with the nausea inducing component to the odor.”
I don’t smoke anything, but I’d 1000x rather be smelling someone’s tobacco cigar, cigarette or pipe than weed.
How would you NOT know this?
Modern pot smells like a dead skunk that has been in the August sun for 5 days.
50 years ago when I used to smoke the stuff, it smelled different. It was still strong, but it didn’t smell like a herd of skunks polluted the atmosphere. My brother still smokes it, and I can’t stand the smell of it.
No. I do not agree.
As far as cannabis use, check out the cannabis consumption in Israel, for example. Chechia, Alaska, all quite high (pun intended)
Hoppes’s is strong, but lemme tell ya, modern marijuana, well, it’s hard to actually BREATHE in a cloud of that stuff. Before we moved, our next door neighbor would SHOOT skunks with a pellet gun right outside our bedroom window. That was nasty. That is what modern weed smells like.
Some varieties, yes.
Others are quite fruity.
