Reminds me of a time a man in our MICU had esophageal varices, which are varicose veins in an esophagus, typically secondary to liver cirrhosis. They are characteirzed by EXPLOSIVE and projectile bleeding, due to backed up venous blood flow impeded by a hardened liver. The poor patient splattered the wall, a good 12 feet away.

I don’t know if that’s this guys problem. But I’ll never forget that experience.
