Several facilities in the US, UK and across the world have morgues full of frozen human heads, bodies and even pets waiting for science to let them live again.
The controversial process of being cryo-preserved has been dubbed a "lottery ticket to immortality" by some hopeful people.
The hope is that people with terminal illnesses could be woken up a time when such diseases and illnesses are curable.
But the goal of cryo is still a long shot - and coming back to life is still not a guarantee.

More than 500 people are floating inside giant thermos bottles filled with liquid nitrogen known as a Dewar.
Inside the chilling chambers, the body is wrapped in several layers of insulating material, and attached to a stretcher with the head angled downwards to keep the brain as cold and as stable as possible.
The corpses lay for years, decades and potentially even centuries as scientists and doctors hunt for the cure to diseases - and ultimately cheat death.
At Cryonics Institute in Clinton Township, Michigan, it costs around £22,000 to be preserved in a -195C liquid nitrogen tank for decades to come.
You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
"You get can buried or cremated and we know what happens to the though those people, they won't ever be repaired, rejuvenated, or reversed, back into a healthy age.
"The grave is your only real alternative and that's complete oblivion. So we want to defeat man's greatest enemy - death itself."
Founded in 1976, Dennis' life goal at Cryonics Institute is to "try to alleviate suffering and pain and to help restore life whenever possible".

All that machinery depends on highly reliable and affordable electricity. That’s going away. The greeniacs and their efforts to destroy electricity will make sure that is all a waste of time and money.
The classic and as far as I am concerned, the only series.
Shows up on Pluto TV.
“Go ahead. It’s tobacco. It is one of the healthiest things for your body.”
Woody nailed the Karens to the wall.
Scam. I doubt if ALL the water can be replaced by the fluid used. It would have to get into each cell...so the person would have to be pumping out water to be replaced by the fluid. Ain’t happening if your heart and kidneys ain’t working. Plus the fluid used is probably gonna do some damage to the big biomolecules...some of which will precipitate out of solution.
To paraphrase P.T. Barnum, “There’s a sucker dying every minute”
Creepy vibes from his picture, as expected.
Yep
The whole exercise is based on a series of assumptions about the body/brain/soul that at a minimum are highly debatable.
A good discussion of the topic is this podcast:

I agree. I’m watching it right now on Pluto.
First episode, Full Fathom Five!
Ted Williams would comment on the subject, but is currently having a brain freeze.
Exactly. Why try to cheat death when the price has already been paid?
Make the most of life, raise good kids and good grandkids.
Don't make them pay for something that would likely never eventuate.
This spook Robert Ettinger is credited by THE SUN with “coming up with this life saving technology.” The guy could win a casting call for a star in a movie about a mad scientist.
The guy Kowalski could at least extend his life by losing 50 pounds. And yes, a sincere surrender to Christ would give him the eternal life he so craves.
Aloha Baby!
How many successful reanimations so far? (not counting Bidementia)
money back guarantee?

Don’t fool yourselves. Whoever thinks they are wise in this world should become a fool. That’s the only way they can be wise. I say this because the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God.
This seems gimmicky to me.
Freezing cells so that they can be revived is an iffy process. Whenever I’ve frozen cells in liquid nitrogen and revived them, maybe half of them could thaw and start growing. Obviously, in a body, if half the cells are dead, that body won’t survive. There are other technical reasons I do not think that a frozen body can be revived.
In addition, I do not think a living person can be frozen, because that amounts to murder. So the freezing process is only performed on a dead person. Have we ever brought a dead person back to life? I don’t think so. Dead is dead.
But let’s say that this is possible. What good is it? Even if the disease that killed the person can be cured, this is not a ticket to immortality. That person will still get old and die. Plus, there are other issues. A person who is revived 100 years from know will not know anyone and will be thrust into an unfamiliar world. It might not be a good experience.
At least someone is making money from this.
Ditto!
