Justified, but I'm fairly certain it's been around longer than that, although the specific diction in the block quote above appears that it may well have come from the show.
My grandpa gently told it to me once when I was claiming to be wronged by basically everyone in the family one day. And he was absolutely right. It's a great little bit of wisdom and insight into human behavior.
So I guess ultimately I have no idea of its ultimate origin, and don't have an answer for you. Sorry.
