“70 used to be old. But something happened, and it isn’t anymore.”
I was responsible for it. I just turned 70 this year and when I checked, old people are still older than me. I’ll keep you posted.
I turned 70 in 2022. That’s when I noticed the change.
Interesting story: I was visiting my brother (who is 69) and we went for a walk at the local park in his town. Some old geezer, looking older than Methuselah, walked by. He turned around and went up to my brother and said, “Aren’t you Jack Bailey (not his real name)?” My brother said yes, I am. We assumed this guy knew our parents back in the day.
Methuselah said, “You used to be my bus driver when I was in the third grade!”
