You won't like what will replace them.
When I see policeman stand by doing nothing while their police station burns (Seattle) or their police cars are trashed (NYC) it’s obvious they have no legitimate purpose.
The thing that will replace them will be armed groups of law-abiding citizens, dispensing vigilante justice, without fear of reprisal by police.
