You seem to be under the impression that he, even as President, has the ability to stop such things.

Do you believe that Trump (or any president) has the power to ACTUALLY fire someone in the Federal Government that he doesn't directly know? For instance, let's say Trump wants this entire department in the FBI fired... assuming legal and HR allows it, it still requires everyone in the chain of command to make it happen... Trump can't actually log into the HR systems and fire someone, so he's dependent on the entire chain of command below him to make it happen... the same goes for CEO's of most large corporations...

All it takes is for some person, 15 levels below to say "nah", and it simply doesn't happen.

See, this is what I don’t understand. After the 4 years that Trump endured the horrendous deep state actions, how could someone possibly think he could stop it then?

It wasn’t a serious statement that was made “hoping” he would stop them OR blaming Trump for this. It’s just not serious thought.
