This guy can do what our ancestors did when they arrived here. Take a menial job, learn to read, write and speak English. Educate yourself and get a better job. Work hard like our families did and make the American Dream your own.
If he moved a few hundred miles north he’d be in a French speaking society in the province of Quebec. Whether that would enhance his chances I don’t know. It’s even colder up there than NYC. Given his naivety about Hollywood and America he probably doesn’t even know Quebec exists.
