Schitt's Creek star Emily Hampshire has come under fire after she and a friend went as warring exes Johnny Depp and Amber Heard for Halloween.
The actress, 42, utilized props referencing the brutal defamation lawsuit such as a plastic turd in photos briefly posted to her Instagram on Tuesday.
Emily went as Johnny complete with a drawn mustache, tattoos, and slicked back hair while her friend dressed as an anguished Amber.
She held a bottle of wine and tucked the 'turd' into her suit jacket as she sat beside 'Amber', who pulled various crying faces.
While the images - which were captioned 'Happy Halloween' with two jack-o-lantern emojis - were ultimately removed from her account, the posts were screen grabbed by offended viewers who shared them with others on social media.
In 2016, Amber, 36, famously accused Johnny of domestic violence and the actor lost a libel case in the UK after he sued The Sun for calling him a 'wife beater.'
The public's attention was also captured after Depp sued Heard for a 2018 Washington Post article she wrote about being abused, which his lawyers said was about Johnny.
The trial was highly publicised at the time and the jury reached a verdict that largely sided with Johnny, though Amber won one of her three counterclaims.
In December 2022, Amber said in a statement posted to Instagram that she had made the 'very difficult decision' to reach a settlement in the case.

That is funny
Agreed. If ones blasted for this.... yikes.
Lol…
Hilarious
Hilarious.
That’s funny! Good for her!
Yes, it is funny. She’s got Johnny Depp down pat, including his wispy moustache and Bic Pen-ish tattoos.
My only criticism is that the defamation trial ended in June 1 of last year, so it’s not very topical at this point. Beyond that, the outraged should look harder for real world concerns to be bothered by. There’s no shortage these days
Who is offended. And why do we care if they are offended. Its not funny if its not offensive to someone.
I was on a thread the other day and talked about how much I disliked Bill Maher, and that his dressing for Halloween as Steve Irwin with a stingray barb sticking out of his chest was pretty scummy and demonstrated his lack of quality as a human being, but that was mostly because Steve Irwin had a widow and a young daughter...
That said, this whole campaign of what is and isn't appropriate for Halloween just pisses me off to the degree that nearly any costume, no matter how offensive, that makes these people go "REEE REEE REEE" is okay in my book.
Of course, there is this additional one:
LOL!
Really! LOL!
Tell those kids to ‘lighten up!’.
Oops! Is that now a microaggression too?
That is hilarious. Can’t ANYBODY have any fun anymore?
What’s with the turd? I don’t get that reference.
Schitt’s Creek was a good show, but the nonstop homo stuff the last two seasons got to me. It wasn’t there for the first three seasons.
Alexis Rose (played by Annie Murphy) was the greatest. What a great actress. Her expressions and vocalizations were hilarious.
Only a matter of time before they start banning costume parties.
Silence! I Kill You!
Amber Tur, uh Heard apparently dropped a deuce in their bed….and tried to blame the dog.
Psycho Lesbo Bitch.
LOL...oh, that’s GROSS!
Makes their costumes even funnier!
