Raquel Welch could also act. In the two part Richard Lester version of The Three Musketeers in the 1970s, Welch played a dress maker to the Queen who was also the comedically bumbling love interest of Michael York as d'Artagnan. Beauty is a gift, but comedy is hard, and Welch did a credible job of it.

My Grandfather was a lawyer and worked on a lawsuit she ended up winning a bunch of money on in the early 80’s. What he said about her is, she was not only physically beautiful, but she was strong and beautiful inside He said what struck him most every time he spoke with her was how incredibly intelligent she was. He said when he first was put on the case that all he thought before meeting her, that she would be the stereotypical dumb starlet. He said he was almost speechless within the first 5 minutes of meeting her just how sharp she was mentally, socially, and emotionally.

Truly a lovely lady. She also appeared in a Seinfeld episode as 'the lady that walks without moving her arms'.
