The balloon that flew over Hawaii? US says it’s not China’s

The Defense Department and the Federal Aviation Administration have been tracking a balloon that was flying off the coast of Hawaii last week, but a defense official said Tuesday there’s no indication it is connected to China or any other adversary, and it presents no threats to aviation or national security.

The balloon was first detected by radar on Friday and “Pacific Air Forces launched three F-22s to assess the situation and visually identified a spherical object,” U.S. Indo-Pacific Command said. “We monitored the transit of the object and assessed that it posed no threat.”

The defense official said the balloon was floating at about 36,000 feet (11,000 meters), and it did not fly over any critical defense infrastructure or sensitive sites. After determining that the balloon presented no threat to people on the ground or to aviation over Hawaii, the military took no action to bring it down, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss military operations.

It’s not clear who owns the balloon, which has now passed out of Hawaii’s airspace, the official said. …

Could the balloon be flying over the US at Brandon’s invitation for a 10% cash fee?

What do you think it costs to scramble (3) F-22 jet fighters to check out a balloon that cost less than $50 to launch.

I tend not to believe one single solitary word, that any government drone says. Not a word.

How much does it cost to fire an anti-aircraft gun at it?

We’ve always been at war with Oceania.

How do they know that? China told them?

Do you trust what our government said?

that’s the next mission, when they send up (3) advanced jet fighters to shoot down a $50 balloon, maybe this time there is a carrier strike group in the area that can scramble (3) F-18s to take out this balloon which is obviously a danger to national security. /sarcasm in case others don’t get it.

Not one bit. I wouldn’t dare put a thread like this in “News”.

I'd guess a half million total to scramble three F-22 and intercept. What do you think?

In 2013, TIME Magazine reported the cost per hour to operate the F-22A was $68,362. In 2014, the F-22 fleet required over 40 hours of maintenance per flight hour.

Probably at least double those ten year old numbers, say $130,000 per hour. Probably a 90 minute sortie pushes the cost per sortie to $200,000. Three aircraft is $600,000.

But Brandon kept us safe yet again from another pico balloon.

China gave Biden and his goons the balloon as a gift. So, it’ Biden’s balloon.

China’s going to fly it across the country to Biden in DC... so he can have a balloon to play with while he eats his ice cream.

How about a U2 spy plane with a .50 caliber machine gun? That would be cost effective.

Of course it's a Chinese spy balloon. It's got propellers and jet engines propelling it all over the place just like the last one........

OMG, how can they get away with this????????????????

And just this morning I saw a hyperventilating bobble head try to convince the viewers that these UFO/balloons are actually secret new blimps from Chinas blimp base out in the desert.

All that propaganda effort just up and gone to waste.

If an organization has even one “Woke” in it, don’t even think about believing that organization.

Now, name one gubmit organiation that contains fewer than a minimum of 20% woke turds, a few percent really woke turds, and around a percent of ultra woke turds (normally known as talking Obamaholes). Belive the lying personoids at your peril.

When the pilots shot down that last balloons that came over the USA, how much crap do you think the other pilots in their squadrons gave them ??

It’s my understand they got credit for an air-to-air kill since the balloon was in flight when it was shot down.
