To those who follow and rate these groups:
What group performed before more live crowds of 10,000 and of 50,000 than any othe group in the 1950s?
And in the 1960’s? and ‘70’s? and ‘80’s? and ‘90’s’?
They didn’t sell many records. (My dad was one of the few.)
But their live appearances were record breakers world wide. Largest live appearance in many states, in many counties.
Who was that group?
“I thought Born in the 50s was their worst song.”
It’s not a horrible song but is an angry song.
In high school, I remember breaking that song down line by line as each was concise.
“Then we messed in our pants”
“Then we lost our faith and prayed to the TV”
That first line is funny, the second is so damn accurate.
The line about King George falling down the steps is funny but in a very dark way.
His career’s been in the dumper ever since LOL.
What is the Morman Tabernacle Choir?
“I don’t care if it’s wrong or if it’s right” bump!
Title track to Regatta De Blanc live in 1979.....They were on a mission then.

Copeland’s father was a CIA bigshot. His mom had been a British spy. Hence -> “The Police.” Copeland Sr. also wrote for “National Review.”
Not Mormons. This group was known for audience participation in the music with only a couple solos at each event. This group was also known for people going forward toward the platform near the end of the event... and then going back stage, hundreds, often thousands going back stage at the end of the event.
I remember that song because the guy was yelling ROXANNE! in his squealy voice.
Up with People? Down with People?
What is the Billy Graham Gospel Team?
Up With People was my first thought but I knew was wrong, because I thought they were 70s forward. Actually formed 1968.
