The United States purchased $38,232,900,000 in imports from the People’s Republic of China in January of this year, according to newly released data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

That was more than Americans spent on imports from any other country during that month, according to the bureau.

Because the United States exported only $13,092,600,000 in goods to China in January, the result was that this country ran a $25,160,300,000 trade-in-goods deficit with China for that month.

That was also the largest trade deficit the United States ran with any country during January. […]

After China, Mexico and Canada, the other nations among the Top 15 sources of imports for the United States in January were:

  1. Germany at $13,506,300,000;
  2. Japan at $11,207,900,000;
  3. Vietnam at $9,227,300,000;
  4. South Korea at $8,975,300,000;
  5. India at $7,922,600,000;
  6. Taiwan at $6,683,400,000;
  7. Ireland at $6,134,700,000;
  8. Italy at $5,863,600,000;
  9. Thailand at $4,924,200,000;
  10. France at $4,757,600,000;
  11. Switzerland at $4,658,900,000; and
  12. the United Kingdom at $4,535,000,000. …

How many understand that most of this is in the open free market free from government interference in voluntary cooperation between private buyers and sellers?

Nobody talks about the market economy free from government interference because the establishment is immersed in unconstitutional Marxist government tyranny.

But what we want is a market economy FREE from government interference. Getting rarer and rarer these days with unconstitutional tyranny dominating the feds. But aside form legitimate military issues, private trading on the open market free from the stupid, harmful, and oppressive government is just what we need.

The Free Market Economy (please stop using the Marist term "capitalism") is our heritage and how America lived free in the 1800 emerging into the 1900's as the greatest, strongest, and wealthiest nation on earth.

I wouldn't have guessed that. Though I wonder how much of the Irish total is real and how much is just bookkeeping transactions through a low tax country.

As long as slave labor exists in China, there can not be a free market. We should not trade with slave states.

Why not?

The influence of the free market actually caused China to create “free trade zones” like Shanghai.

Voluntary free market trading causes more freedom in the oppressed State and consumers benefit on the other side of the deal. Everybody wins. That’s how the free-market works.

“… (I)n general, the protective system of our day is conservative, while the free trade system is destructive. It breaks up old nationalities and pushes the antagonism of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie to the extreme point. In a word, the free trade system hastens the social revolution. It is in this revolutionary sense alone, gentlemen, that I vote in favor of free trade.”

— Karl Marx

Permit free trade between all nations regardless of communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

— Communist goal #4
Some people cannot tell the difference between the phrases “free trade” and “free market”, unfortunately. Red China is plainly a non-market economy, and trade with them was a fulfillment of one of the 45 stated goals of commies for the USA.

Never happened.

And instead, they exported more communism to the USA.

Let that bit of Uniparty propaganda go.

Shanghai, Guangdong, Tianjin and Fujian happened.

The stupidity is the lack of understanding about the free market because nobody teaches it or talks about anymore.

Voluntary market trading free from government interference is what Adam Smith rightly called “The Wealth of Nations” and 1800’s America was a good example.

Contrary to your “Uniparty propaganda”, the Left hates the positive effects of market trading without government because they want government to control everything.

How much of that trade imbalance can be attributed to epacket subsidies or environmental regulation differentials?

LOL! Read post 10. The left uses anything and everything as a means to an end. Khrushchev called it “different paths to socialism”; Lenin before him called it the New Economic Policy.

And where where the most recent COVID lockdowns in Red China? In exactly the cities and regions you mentioned.

You don’t understand the free market economy which ALWAYS leads to freedom and wealth and NEVER “socialism” AKA tyranny.

Why do you think the Left NEVER talks about the voluntary cooperation between buyers and sellers in the marketplace free from government interference??

Because the free market is the quickest way to defeat the Left and their unconstitutional tyranny.

(The closest the Left gets is “capitalism”. Much of the Right seems clueless about the true free market economy which made America the strongest, freest, and wealthiest nation on earth and clueless that the term and concept of “capitalism” is a negative Marxist aberration of the true free market.)

You don’t understand the left even when their tactics are obvious and laid bare. The commies always want access to free markets to subvert them. Does Biden champion a free market?

As Sun Tzu said, those who understand themselves but not the enemy suffer losses for every win, and those who understand neither themselves nor the enemy get beaten every time. And Nixon called his rapprochement with Red China the greatest mistake of his career.

It only works that way when there are no slave markets.

The free market economy works regardless of slave markets.

Slave markets only hurt the economy of the "slave" side. The free market on the other side is still thriving, buying, and selling according to their own self interest and profit regardless of what the "slave market" is doing.
