The Texas Republican Party on Saturday censured Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, for his votes on issues including same-sex marriage, gun restrictions and border security, deciding the votes violated the priorities and principles of the party.

Gonzales, who represents Texas’ 23rd Congressional District stretching from western San Antonio to El Paso, was censured by the Medina County Republican Party last month for taking actions “in opposition to the core principles of the Republican Party of Texas.”

On Saturday, the 64-member State Republican Executive Committee voted in favor of the resolution, 57-5, with one abstention, at its quarterly meeting in Austin. […]

Separately, the resolution took aim at Gonzales, who represents a border district, for having failed to support a key Republican border security bill in the House that would block migrants from entering the U.S. if they could not be detained or placed in a remain-in-Mexico-type program. Gonzales had blasted the bill as “un-American” and argued it would essentially prevent asylum claims at the border. He said it would worsen the ongoing border crisis and incentivize human smuggling. …

Believe it or not, the GOP platform promotes Biblical values.

Candidates should be tested on its contents, take a vow to uphold it and be held accountable if they don’t.

There are pro- choice republicans
There are gay republicans
There are republicans who want some control over semi automatics
There are republicans who want to change the way we deal with the border
There are pro Medicare republicans
There are pro Ukraine republicans
There are republicans who are on both side of every issue ( see Lindsey Graham)

Just sayin

He needs to go back to his natural “born that way” party. He isn’t an American.

And none of them should be Republicans... What is your point?

That's why we lovingly refer to them and their supporters as scum.

You didn’t describe Republicans - you described RINOs

Do we really need a PURITY test?
Do we really need to alienate independants ?
Can we not allow for any free thought?

Since you suddenly dove in here with an off-topic long-standing euphemism for anti-religious thought (which is a tenet of leftism), I can surmise what you are here to do. A look at your history confirms it.

Enjoy your stay on FR.

Lol
You don’t know what your talking about.

I’ve posted endless pro Trump posts.
I don’t know your age but I’ve probably voted Republican more times than you.

Sorry… I do have a problem with mandatory purity.

I know exactly what I’m talking about. There is a long history of what I’m talking about, and I can only suggest you look into it. The left has monopolized the notion of “free thought” for close to two centuries; it has been a mere euphemism for all that time. Merely “posting pro-Trump posts” or “vot(ing) Republican” is not an expression of your true personality or true intent for being here; your anti-bill-of-rights posts on other threads would be more like it.

Enjoy your stay on FR.

"Sorry… I do have a problem with mandatory purity."

I have a problem with mandatory anything, but would you vote for a Republican that is or would;

Be pro- choice.

Who wants "some" control over semi automatics.

Who wants to change the way we deal with the border. That is to say, have an open border.

Pro Medicare republican. (Are we talking about Medicare or Medicaid?).

Pro Ukraine republican.

A republican who seem to be on the wrong side of nearly every issue, (see Lindsey Graham).

As far as their sex preferences go, homos have an average lifespan of about 45 years, so he wouldn't be around long anyway...

Another thing I'm wondering about is, did said politician lie to his constituents, or did they vote for him knowing what he was? If it was the latter case, then they got what they wanted... Case closed.!

Also, libertarians are even worse. I hate it that they flood onto FR and are treated like they have legitimate value. Disgusting.

Why ?

I dont need the accusations and threats if I dont toe-the-line.

90% agreement is 10% enemy....mandatory purity.
