At least they have a valid case for the last place city.

Probably because many of the residents aren’t in Afghanistan anymore.

You can be happy in Fremont if you speak Dari or Pashto.

Yep. “Little Baghdad.” Lived in Fremont and Union City for nearly 30 years. Wasn’t bad, but happiest? Don’t know about that . . .

Fremont is 4/5 non White, virtually all Asian.

It was a nice place in the 70s. Had a dragstrip and a glider airfield. Then China moved in. Paved over all that fun stuff and turned it into Townhomes and Condos for the sweated masses of Asia.

So yeah, they’re happy. They defeated the gringos and took over. Since the town is named for the Uber Gringo who spearheaded the liberation of California from the decrepit Mexican “empire”, that should be changing real soon.

Probably call it MaoTown.

These are the cities where the people who make up the surveys think people ought to be happiest, not the cities where people actually are the happiest.

There are places where people are horribly unhappy, but is there really much difference between the places we are told are the happiest and places where people are just reasonably contented.

If you look closely at the statistics, people are happy living in San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland, because they are rich and healthy and have interesting jobs and activities and know other rich and healthy people who do interesting things, but they really aren’t happy living in those cities with all the problems those cities have. They would be happy living in many different places and would be happier living somewhere else.

I was thinking, they are really happy there, because the drugs are good, and free!

I used to live close to that community.
Highly unlikely!

Yeah, they’re full of shyte! It was livable once upon a time, but barely. Pete Stark was my congressman for 35 years! The best example I can give you of what it was like living there is this: a visit to the local Costco on a weekend, was like stepping into the bar scene, in the first episode of Star Wars!

It’s funny how these “happiest” cities are served by, or close to areas served by, BART.
