Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is done being underestimated.
Having vanquished both a Donald Trump-backed Republican challenger and Democratic star Stacey Abrams to win reelection, Kemp is looking to expand his influence in his second term, free from the caricature of the gun-toting, pickup-driving, migrant-catching country boy that emerged during his first campaign for governor.
A new vision of Kemp steering his party toward a non-Trumpian conservatism made its debut in his November victory speech after it became clear that he had defeated Abrams by a much larger margin in their rematch than he had in their tight 2018 matchup.
“This election proves that when Republicans stay focused on real-world solutions that put hardworking people first we can win now, but also in the future, y’all,” Kemp said.
Kemp pledged that night to “stay in the fight” and followed with concrete steps: He kept his political operation running and lent it to the unsuccessful Senate runoff campaign of Herschel Walker, while forming a federal political action committee that lets the governor influence races for Congress and president. He hasn’t ruled out running for the U.S. Senate in 2026 or even seeking the White House.
Beyond his own advancement, Kemp’s victory could provide a blueprint for Republicans in competitive states after voters rejected many of the Trump-molded candidates in 2022. It’s a less showy approach, aimed at luring independents and moderates while still achieving conservative policy goals.
“If Republicans looking forward are focused on winning, I think a lot of folks will be calling Gov. Kemp and wanting his advice, but also trying to replicate the things he did here,” said Cody Hall, Kemp’s political adviser. …

Probably true. If the primary nominations were held today, Trump would win. Which would be a shame because he'd absolutely get thrashed by Biden, losing every state he lost in '20 and probably adding NC to his losses as well. Maybe even Texas. And not only that, but he'd take the House down with him and the Dems would keep the Senate.
Fortunately, the primaries aren't today so I'm going to spend the next 12 months or so doing my best to convince my fellow FReepers that it's time to ditch this guy. He's lost his magic. He's on a losing streak that will only lead to even more Democrats going to Washington and keeping the White House in 2024.
He is the ONLY PERSON with the balls to battle the corruption in the intel dept of our government!! You can talk all you want about DeSantis HOWEVER running a state that is NOT FULL of embedded corrupt bureaucrats is NOT even close to taking on the DC BEAST!!{ DeSantis will be swallowed up by the BEAST Trump needs to clean it out first!! But we are going to have Trump in 2024, so long as he is able to campaign.

Trump took on the Swamp and got his ass kicked and today the Swamp is deeper and more powerful than ever.
By the time he left office, he had handed the country over to Dr. Fauci, was trying to bribe black voters with a $500 billion reparations plan, and was fighting with the Senate over who could write the biggest Covid checks.
And today, he's a defeated shell of his former self, angry and sullen.
I mean, seriously, does this inspire anyone?
And if that's the case, we'll have a Democrat in the White House, a Democrat-controlled House, and a Democrat-controlled Senate.

I already know about what is coming. I've been trying to tell people what would be the consequences of letting the Democrats get away with vote fraud in the swing states. One of those consequences may end up being the deaths of millions of people because of wars started by Iran or China or Russia. Millions may be killed in one of the upcoming wars, and it would not have happened had people addressed the vote fraud which put drooling idiot into power.
And we'll have Trump to blame for all of it because he couldn't put his ego aside and recognize that his time has passed.
We will have Republican cowards to blame for it because they refused to do anything about the vote fraud that is handing national elections to Democrats.
Trump was the reason the Democrats initiated this vote fraud system, but our duty was to make them pay for creating it, not blaming the victim of it.
No Republican will win until the vote fraud problems in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin and Nevada are fixed.
