New footage released today shows the moment Hope Solo was yanked from her car by police on the night of her DWI arrest after she passed out behind the wheel with her two-year-old twins in the back.
Solo, 41, was arrested on March 31 after being discovered in her car in a Winston-Salem, North Carolina Walmart parking lot. Her two-year-old twins, Lozen and Vittorio, were in the backseat of the car, and the engine was still running.
The ex-USWNT goalkeeper was later convicted and hit with a 30-day prison-sentence, which she did not have to serve because of the month she spent in rehab following the incident. She describes the night as 'the biggest mistake of my life'.
She is later pulled from the car, while her two-year-old twins cry in the back seats, after suggesting she would not submit to field sobriety tests.
Solo is later handcuffed after continuing to tell officers she was simply napping and declining to submit to tests.
According to an arrest warrant about the March incident, a passerby noticed Solo passed out behind the steering wheel for more than an hour with the vehicles engine running and the two children in the backseat.
A responding officer could smell alcohol, and the warrant said Solo refused a field sobriety test.

It is seriously very unnerving.
Even if she were checking you out but halfway, it might be worth a shot....
“while staring at you with the other.”
So no more details on that?
I think Hope has a talent for being able to see more than one thing in her field of vision. Years of training on the pitch. Oh, and she’s married to a former football player. I wouldn’t want to mess with that.
Rode hard and put up wet
It’s a good thing those policemen had their body cameras working. They show how professionally the LEOs behaved. …. and how a person with .24 blood alcohol can still function even though lying constantly.
Sitting in some cars for an hour with the engine running could end up in a catastrophe. Her car must’ve been fairly airy.
I cannot believe she got off with a 30 days in rehab stint. That was child endangerment, which could have ended in manslaughter. If I had done this as a male, at a minimum it would be 90 days, with mandatory treatment during the 1 year probation period AFTER jail.
I have a feeling there a LOT of nights she describes as “the worst mistake of my life”.
Those poor children.
There are alcoholics and there are hopeless alcoholics. Then there is Hope Solo.
Sad as she was once a very talented athlete.
I hope she gets it together. Children are an awesome responsibility.
Marty Feldman could do that.
