It’s been a real “well, shit” few days for Democrats, for which one could either blame the New York Times or the underlying reality on which the New York Times reports.
On Monday, the Times’ Upshot section released a new poll in which Republicans led Democrats by just over three points when respondents were asked which party’s candidate they supported in their district—a gain of about four points for the GOP in the last month on the measure.
It was the latest such “generic ballot” question on which Republicans have made gains over that time, and the party has closed its deficit in FiveThirtyEight’s aggregate of the measure to less than a point. Because of their gerrymandering advantages, Republicans would likely take control of the House even if Democrats have a one-point lead in national vote totals.
Another problem for Democrats is that the forces behind these swings, according to experts such as myself, are factors that the party has no control over. In Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, Republicans are running ads accusing Barnes and Fetterman of being soft on crime, accusations which may be more effective among prejudicially inclined voters because Barnes is Black
Specifically, Mehmet Oz’s campaign has been hammering Fetterman for his record leading the state’s Board of Pardons, which he pushed to recommend clemency more frequently. In Wisconsin, Johnson has accused Barnes of wanting to “defund the police” and put criminals on the street
The Times poll also found that the share of voters citing the economy as their top concern is rising. This may be in part due to the fact that mortgage rates have gone up and the stock market has been beaten down by the Federal Reserve’s rate hikes, which investors are increasingly convinced will lead to a recession

I will tell you what, life was a hell of a lot better under maga-bozos and it wasn’t just because of gas.
I stopped at mega-bozos.
I guess this is what passes for ‘writing’ these days.
Only because it is actually true. Not an accusation.
“ I guess this is what passes for ‘writing’ these days.”
This guy is a blogger with no real expertise or experience at anything......and it shows.
What a moron

So democrat policies havne’t been the force behind rising inflation, increased gas prices, and more crime?
The perception is crumbling for the dims at exactly the right time for once ...though it’s a long 22 days!
Cost of gas is just one reason on a loooong list of RAT disastrous failures…c’mon man…
I am sorry you did not understand my post.
Don’t worry about it Snowflakes. Joe Asho is going to release 14 million more barrels to get your slimy chestnuts out of the fire for the midterms. Now all you have to worry about is fossil fuels skyrocketing again the day after the RATS get their grimy asses reelected. Then they’ll be permanently sky high. It’s going to be a long, cold winter. Lots of Americans are going to die.
I didn’t know that Pennsylvania cut out Pittsburgh and Philadelphia so Oz would win. Note: all the excuses have nothing to do with Democrat policies.
Spin, spin, spin. We are already in a recession - literally - not just rhetorically. We have already had two consecutive quarters of negative growth. That's a recession. What we risk now is a double-dip recession. The Federal Reserve's rate hikes are also not occurring just because they feel like it - it is in response to the effects of the Democrats' inflationary budget and economic policies.
Gas, open violent borders, looting the American treasure to give away to foreign countries, attacks on the 1 & 2nd Amendments, censorship, taxes, regulations, electric vehicle mandates, risking a WWIII, sky high prices on everything....Eff these leftist SOB’s.
No sweat....we all screw up
RIIIIIIIIIGHT......The loss of baby formula, no groceries on shelves and crime through the roof......Obviously, people were only concerned about gas..The other stuff....A big nothing burger
