The U.S. Secret Service is charged with helping to protect foreign dignitaries taking part in the U.N. General Assembly high-level week in New York, but a decision by the agency to tweet out a photo featuring Iran’s U.S.-sanctioned president – whose attendance is highly controversial – attracted some criticism on Tuesday.

“This week, we are all-hands-on-deck in NYC for the 77th UN General Assembly, working with our partners including [the NYPD], [State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service], [U.S. Coast Guard] and more,” the Secret Service tweeted to its 1.1 million followers.

The post included four photos, one of which showed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emerging with members of his delegation from a black Chevy Suburban, flanked by presumed Secret Service agents. […]

“They TWEETED a picture of them guarding Raisi?” tweeted Heritage Foundation senior fellow Victoria Coates, who served as senior director for strategic assessment in the Trump administration’s National Security Council.

“The US Secret Service, directed by the Biden Administration, is providing security for a murderous terrorist dictator who has declared death to America,” commented Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.). …

Wait until everyone in the Baby Boomer generation is dead. No one will be able to remember the rules of our language.

Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end, we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible because there will be no words in which to express it.

— Syme, “1984”
That is the aim of the Uniparty.

I guess I would support the Secret Service providing security over those of all the other countries. Otherwise there would be a lot of really bad people here.

Well that’s apropos for the anti-American anti-Christian federal government.

To begin with, the UN should be removed from the territory of the United States of America.

Before anything takes place with Raisi here, this leader of the terrorist supporting and terrorist nation should be taken into custody and prosecuted.

Most of the people in the US government have no loyalty to Americans and consider themselves part of a global nobility.

They don’t even understand how this is perceived by any normal citizen. It’s like hearing them bragging about giving Bin Laden a protective motorcade.

People like Raisi shouldn’t be allowed on American soil unless in chains.

I guess they mean to say “President of a country suffering sanctions by the US”, not a “US-sanctioned President”.

flanked by presumed Secret Service agents.

That sentence buried in the article is a tad different than what the title would lead one to believe.

That being said, certain foreign leadership does get Secret Service protection when they come to the US, depending on where they are on the list. Prime Ministers/Presidents get the Secret Service. All other foreign diplomats get the Diplomatic Security Service.

So, while disgusting that the man is allowed in the country, he probably does rate Secret Service agents. On top of the Iranian bodyguards, authorized to work in the US, armed.

I can’t disagree there. The world was a lot safer place when it was ruled by about nine countries.

This is wrong.

I wonder if this kind of incrementalism used by commie goons when they compromised the FBI, DOJ, and “Homeland”?
