To Bernie: It is not control of a woman’s own body. The separate and individual pre-born baby is not a mass of tissue that is an extension of the mother’s body as old time science speculated (1973).
Conception creates a zygote which contains all the dna material to instruct the body’s cells from infancy through old age. Not the mother’s body, the pre-born baby’s.
Depends on which old-time science you’re referring to. Certainly Soviet pseudoscience should be considered “old-time” in our present-day context, but the left wants to continue to present it as contemporary.

What I meant was in those bad old days (which I remember) the media pushed scientists saying there is no baby until the mother gives birth, or a certain trimester, or viability outside the womb or until other certain evidence.
But post 1973 ultrasound can show the baby. And advanced dna research shows the independent life of the baby. And so on. Not known accurately in 1973 when “a mass of tissue” was in a woman and she could get the Dems to issue a pass for killing the baby under that designation.
