I don’t think it will hurt the governor.
The people who will go nuts and try to blame him will never ever support him regardless of what he does.
The people who have supported him will continue to do so because they know the county sheriff is not under the control of the governor.
Osceola County sheriff is elected by the county residents and is a DEMOCRAT.
So it will be hard for the nut cases to blame those mean old conservative republicans like the governor.
