Cedric McMillan, a champion American bodybuilder, has died at the age of 44, sponsors confirmed.
McMillan reportedly suffered a heart attack while on a treadmill, according to fitness network Generation Iron.
The champion strongman had been open about suffering from long-term Covid-19, which had caused him heart issues, as well as pneumonia, the network has also reported. It was unclear exactly what heart issues the athlete suffered from.
Black Skull USA, a supplement company that sponsored McMillan, confirmed his passing Wednesday on Instagram.
'We regret to inform you that our friend and brother @cedricmcmillan passed away today. Cedric will be greatly missed as an athlete, comrade, friend, and father,' they wrote in a post on Instagram. The company didn't provide further details around McMillan's death.
McMillan won the 2017 Arnold Classic bodybuilding title, named after Arnold Schwarzenegger. A New Jersey native, McMillan grew up idolizing Schwarzenegger.
The Arnold Sports Festival remembered him in a Facebook post after his death Wednesday.
'Known for his larger than life personality, his infectious smile, a gentle heart, and a sense of humor that was loved by fellow competitors and fans alike, Cedric will be deeply missed.'
McMillan, a husband and father of three, was an Army veteran and also a member of the South Carolina National Guard, who were notified of his death. He achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class in July 2021

True... But body builders aren’t generally the most “healthy” over all. Between the eating, workouts, and drug regimen... It’s kind of amazing any of them make it into their 40’s without having at least ONE heart attack.
Arnie had a heart attack long before COVID was any kind of a thing and did it while still in “Hollywood” shape...
Still, a tragic loss is a loss. Prayers up for his friends and family.

“No no no no no no no… it’s not ANOTHER unusual heart attack in a young person after getting the vaccine...No no no… “, he explained.

Not ‘normal’ death. Long COVID.
The juice don’t help. When they get to that level they all have to use steroids to compete. Genetics are needed but will get you so far. These guys talk about it so casually. They don’t ask each other if they use it’s what and how much. Some didn’t use a lot but some take a unreal amount of just testosterone alone. Not to mention the other stuff.
Hmmm... Not so sure that that is a reasonable supposition...
I have made it into my late 80's (88.4) without a heart attack... Knock on wood...
Arnold had a heart valve repaired. He didn’t have a heart attack.
Yeah I think his was preventative..
did he get the vax?
Mc Millan had long term health problems including a serious bicycle crash, heart problems and contracting COVID-19, developing pneumonia, and being put on life support. It is likely that his lungs were very slowly building up with fluid for months after having the virus.
This description reveals he was not in favor of being confined to the hospital:
“After spending a few days in the hospital and still struggling to breath, Cedric McMillan grew impatient. He wanted to leave. He felt that he was not in immediate life or death danger. He jokes that he stood up and pulled off the wires from his body, “like a movie.” The doctors tried to stop him. Before he knew it. He was sedated and woke up three days later.”
“It turns out shortly after being sedated, his condition grew worse. He was put on a ventilator and life support. The hospital called his family as they were concerned that there was a likely chance that Cedric McMillan would die. Luckily, this was not the case.”
It is obvious this episode would set the stage leading to his death.
“aren’t generally” healthy. Where can i learn about this idea?
so all the athletes having heart attacks are taking steroids,, okay, logical deduction there, thanks!
yes but was he fully vaxxed and boosted?
LEX
Arnold was heavily roided throughout his life. He was never a natural bodybuilder once he got serious.
It helps to take care of the most important muscle of all 🤪
The third leg?
