Oberlin College was ordered by Ohio's state appeals court to pay Gibson's Bakery the sum on April 1, but continues to contest the payout, and says it is considering its options.
The bakery was wrongly accused of racism after calling the police on three Oberlin black students for shoplifting a bottle of wine.
One of its workers - Allyn Gibson - was even attacked by the three shoplifters after refusing to hand over a fake ID, and demanding they hand over the stolen wine.
That trio were later convicted - but not before Oberlin went along with its students' union's claim that their arrests had been as a result of racial profiling.
Shockingly, the college's then dean of students, Meredith Raimondo, helped circle the wagons, and even distributed leaflets accusing Gibson's of racial profiling in an attempt to destroy the 137 year-old business.
The arrogant academic even texted another dean to share her desire to unleash another woke mob on an academic who blasted Oberlin's bullying of Gibson's.
She wrote: 'F**k him. I’d say unleash the students if I wasn’t convinced this needs to be put behind us.'
Despite her disgraceful lies and bullying, the 52 year-old was allowed to stay with the college, and stepped down at the end of 2021 to take up a position at Oglethorpe College in Georgia.
Former Dean of Students and Vice President Meredith Raimondo stoked protests against Gibson's Bakery following the shoplifting incident, even though the claims were found to be totally false. She has since been blamed for much of the behavior that has seen Oberlin ordered to pay $35 million for defamation, with Raimondo since moving to a college in Atlanta

No, I think they will just ignore it and no judge will order them to pay.
That will work. There was a case about a decade ago where a bank had a judgement against it by a customer for only several thousand dollars. The bank tried to ignore the court order, so the customer took the judgement to the Sherriff's office. The Sherriff went to the customer's local bank branch and seized ALL of branch's computers. The bank cut a check that afternoon.

Pinhead all the time.
Remember, this is a 21st Century “institution of higher learning.” It’s entirely possible they’re just having a hard time figuring out if 35 million is more or less than 936 million.
Appeals bonds are not cheap.
Take possession of the administration building and lease it to the gun and to anti-abortion advocacy groups for $1 per year. Position armed guards around the building.
AGREE, then bulldoze it. Erase it from the map

Meanwhile RINO “conservatives” surrender before the battle begins.
That’s Antioch...

When someone lose a court cases they are required to post the damages for these reasons.
Seize bank accounts is better than buildings.
Rich irony that Dean Meredith Raimondo took a position at Oglethorpe College which is named after James Edward Oglethorpe who was a slave owning plantation owner.
Sheriff’s sale.
I was wondering how this stuff works, I thought if you are appealing a fine above a certain amount you had to place the money you would be paying into an escrow account.

I remember this also.
That's one path. Here's another: refusal to abide by a lawful court order is contempt of court. Jail them. All of them.
Start with everyone in leadership at the college. Jail them. All of them. Then the President of the University, all Deans, then faculty and finally staff.
Watch how fast Oberlin College pays up.
Oh, the fun should begin. I’d start with a bank garnishment on the faculty payroll accounts on payday. Then a live execution on the furniture in the University President’s Office. Then tow the Oberlin U police vehicles for sale at auction. Then maybe pick up the memorabilia and trophies if there are any.
In Ohio here we do it by praecipe. Lawyer fills it out, says what he wants the Sheriff to pick up or the Bank to send to Court, Magistrate signs it and Bob’s your uncle.
I see what you did there...
And yes, the DM has done some great reporting on Hillary, the Biden Crime Family and lots of other important stories for conservatives. Stories that never saw the light of day in the US press. But once they attacked Putin, Fake News! Propaganda!
They will end up paying, though, after any appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court is exhausted.
