The daytime talk show Maury is coming to an end after more than 30 seasons, after it was cancelled by NBCUniversal.
The syndicated show, which Maury Povich, 83, began hosting in 1991, is slated to conclude producing original episodes to air through this fall, Broadcasting + Cable was first to report Saturday.
New episodes of the talk show, known for its paternity reveals, will remain on the air through September
Reruns of the show will remain airing in syndication, in an arrangement similar to that of The Jerry Springer Show, according to the outlet. Original episodes of Springer's show ended in 2018 and have continued to air in the seasons since.
Maury's last renewal came in 2020, which extended the show through the 2021-2022 TV season, People reported, citing a news release from NBC Universal
The popular series reached its 3,000th episode in May of 2016, according to TV Line.

#2 and Oprah! Be gone all!
Too old, too white.

That wasn’t the real reason she left her show though. “West 57th” became her show exclusively (they retitled it). It was near the bottom of the ratings - it was going to be cancelled but it was her way of saving face.
Was Maury the father?
Show was different when it began. 30 years is a long time so it went through different phases. Maury was on a more news oriented show before his talk show. It was Maureen Boyle’s version of A Current Affair. In 1999 his talk show was shortened to Maury after being called The Maury Povich Show for eight seasons. Maury is 83 now and is retiring so this was a mutual decision. He also did a MSNBC shoe with wife Connie Chung 15 years ago.
