No way no how does the hear content of the air drive ocean temperatures up.
The density difference between liquid and gas just does not make that in any way feasible.
The sun is what warms the water, not atmospheric heat content.
Not to mention… the conjecture that they put forward assumes they actually can tell the temps of the oceans throughout history, which they have no real ability to do. The actual title should be “hottest ocean temps since we started to accurately measure them”…. Then theyd have some semblance of credibility.
