Pope Francis has met with U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic who has come under criticism from some bishops in the United States for her support for abortion rights.
Their meeting took place in Vatican City on Saturday, several weeks before Joe Biden is expected to meet the Pope when the the president is in Rome for talks between leaders of the Group of 20 major economies.
The Vatican announced Pelosi's audience with the Pope in its daily bulletin but gave no details.
Biden, the second Catholic U.S. president, has said he is personally opposed to abortion but, as a politician, cannot impose his views. Pelosi, who has five children, has said she supports a woman's right to choose.
Biden's administration and Pelosi have urged judges to block a new Texas law which bars abortions from six weeks, saying it is unconstitutional.
The ban was temporarily reinstated on Friday by a conservative-leaning appeals court.

What a travesty for the unborn. The Pope just gave credence for Catholics to ignore Christ’s teachings and laws of the Church.

She also has that “too many face lifts” look on her face.
While face lifts may initially make an improvement, after a while the women look worse than if they never had one. They look ghoulish, like skin stretched too tight over a skull. wait a minute…..
Nancy has crazy eyes.
I’ve never seen her look so old.
Not trying to pick on him - that's just what my thoughts are when I see his eyes and his demeanor.
So does the pope, quite frankly.

Is Nancy evil?
Is Nancy a witch?
Should Nancy be removed from the Catholic church?
If His Holiness was actually Holy and true to The Faith - he’d burn that witch at the stake.

Again, what in the world is the pope doing by greeting this enemy of life so joyfully? Does no one among his advisors caution him about the powerful impression he gives that abortion is not actually wrong? Or is the whole of the Vatican as corrupt as D.C.? It sure looks like it.
Francis reminds me of the Eric Idle character on the old Monty Python series with his wink-wink, nudge-nudge, “know what I mean,” when he talks one way about abortion and the sanctity of life and then does a photo-op like this.
This is shameful beyond words.
Shame on you, Francis. The damage you do to Christianity and the moral law is enormous. Shame on you.
One more reason my donations to the Catholic Church dramatically decreased.
