“”He wasn’t a dangerous person.”
I’ve mentioned this in other posts. I know a man who worked as a nurse in an insane asylum. His ward did not contain anyone who was considered “dangerous.” One day he said to a woman who thought she was Queen Elizabeth and demanded to be treated as she imagined the queen is treated, “Emily, you know you’re not Queen Elizabeth.” This little woman backhanded this very large man, knocking him flat on his back. She shook her finger at him saying, “Don’t you ever contradict me!”
When you call into question someone’s “identity” you call into question their entire existence. You threaten them in a way worse than facing a man with a gun. A man with a gun can only kill you. But if someone calls into question your view of who and what you are, that person is a danger to you, to your identity, to your entire position in the world. So, maybe this man, pretending to be a woman to have sex with an insecure 18 year old, represented an existential threat to who and what he thought he was. It doesn’t matter to the insecure young man, who may secretly fear he is gay, that the guy calling his self-view into question weighs nothing. That threat MUST be neutralized.
Another problem is, to the liberal left, words are the same as a physical threat and you are allowed to assault someone because they said something you disagree with. This idea allows violence in any situation because you are now allowed to create your own special reality. You often hear liberals say the words, “My truth.” Not THE truth, but my truth. There has been a stead eroding of reality in order to accommodate all the new leftist lunacy and that has led to a greater propensity towards violence when it otherwise would not be socially allowed.
I’m not saying what the young man did was right…just the opposite. But I think it’s important to understand why what happened, happened, so that it doesn’t happen again. Of course, this would require giving up a lot of lunacy just to accommodate real reality. I doubt that can happen because the left has invested so much in their new and variable realities.
Very interesting interpretation of the event.
