Pretending to be the opposite gender is fraud, if the person you are luring does not know your real gender, and you get “consideration” (legal term) under false pretenses.
The law should take such fraud into consideration, and by doing so, change the social convention. A transgender female impersonator truly loses nothing by being honest about what they are.
If someone turns them down after learning the truth, to expect that person to not feel victimized after *finding out* the truth is unreasonable. What other criminal fraud victims are expected to “grin and bear it”, just because they were deceived by the criminal?

I’m guessing that this this V-Tech athlete’s IQ is probably barely above mentally retarded, so that may explain why he was apparently fooled so easily.

Years ago, I used to belong to an organization that had meetings attended by a guy who dressed as a woman, posed as a woman and spoke with a really phony female voice. And, I swear, some folks— very sheltered, conservative Catholic type young adults— had no clue that that the “weird woman” was a dude and barely believed me when I told them.
In the Left’s hierarchy of protected classes, homosexuals rank above blacks for the simple reason homos have money and occupy key positions in media and academia.
Anyone really surprised? “C’mon man!” so to speak...

A friend of mine (honestly, not me) had some substance abuse issues when he was younger and also got into picking up street hookers. Where political fantasy meets brutal reality. Apparently, these trans people are convinced they really are women. This is the problem with giving positive reinforcement to a delusion.
A hysterical aside from this is, the appearance of trans (fake) women is that there are no longer any lesbians. I read the explanation for this and it made little sense, but here goes... if trans woman are lesbians, it means they are heterosexual men. Therefore all lesbians had to forgo the word and declare themselves queer. On account of it’s anti trans to say you’re something that a trans person can’t be. Also, trans men are very angry that the former lesbians, now queers, will not have sex with them. (I’m going to have a shot of tequila and lay down after typing this.)
Back to the case at hand...this is not the first time a man has beaten or killed a man pretending to be a woman after discovering the deception. This is because many men are extremely insecure and having found out they’ve had gay sex the only way to make amends and make yourself heterosexual again is to kill the other person. I’ve read of several other similar cases over the years. Mostly, alcohol is involved. But the point is, this is common enough that a man pretending to be a woman is literally taking his life into his hands when he pulls this particular bit of dishonesty on an unsuspecting man. Thus, again, we get back to the notion that they really think that they ARE women. Again...totally crazy. (Where’s that damned tequila?)
An argument can be made that this is a form of rape.
Hear me out. Hypothetical. A female is at a party, she goes into a dark room with the intent to meet a particular male who agreed to meet her there for sex. Someone else sneaks in or it’s part of a ploy, whatever, with the intention of making the female think it’s the agreed upon male. It’s dark and they just met, after all. She then realizes she was fooled, taken advantage of, or the victim of a switcheroo ploy.
That’s rape because she didn’t agree to sex with that person. So, if a male misrepresents what he is and does so convincingly enough to fool a heterosexual male into a sex act, that is pretty much the same thing.
Of course, the female in my example used poor judgement and whatever, but that’s not the point. The man in article probably should have used better judgement, too. However, I’d argue that a male fooling another male into a homosexual act without his prior knowledge is rape in a similar fashion.
Not excusing killing the other man, but it’s definitely something to think about.
In today’s society the terms “man” and “woman” have lost all meaning. If Jerry Smith claims to be a woman, isn’t that enough? Doesn’t Ismemen know that women can have penises?
