In one of his final acts as majority leader, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell is pressuring Democrats to keep the filibuster — the procedural tool that liberals and progressives are eager to to do away with so President-elect Joe Biden’s legislative priorities can be approved more easily over GOP opposition.
McConnell has told Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer that retaining the legislative filibuster is important and should be part of their negotiations for a power-sharing agreement in the narrowly divided Senate.
Schumer and McConnell met Tuesday to begin hammering out the details of organizing the chamber, which will be split 50-50 …

Manchin might be the only Democrat Senator who has the sense to heed The Turtle.

As if they care what this irrelevant old relic of the past has to say. McConnell lives in more of an alternate universe then the radical LEFT. How tone deaf can he be? He doesn’t realize yet how much they despise him too. Fool. Old ugly fool.
I’d rather see it go away. The Dems could get some bad things through, but hopefully at some point, the Republicans would then have the opportunity to repeal them and not be hamstrung by the filibuster. Of course the Murkowski/McCain/Romney types would probably have to be gone, and probably McConnell too. I’m thinking long term.
I’m guessing that this was the trade-off for the Turtle throwing DJT under the bus today.
Wonder if that’s what Turtle traded for his upcoming vote on impeachment.
