I think it’s called the Monterey Pop Festival.

“Jeffery had also taken a $2 million insurance policy on Hendrix’s life essentially making the singer more valuable dead than alive.”

So Hendrix’s net worth zooms to $175 million within a few years of the Monterey Pop Festival and Woodstock, yet he’s worth more dead (with a $2M policy) than alive?

Right. Makes perfect sense.

No thanks. I think my oldest brother probably had a Hendrix album but whatever its appeal, Hendrix had didn't cross over into my generation.

An ex-Ranger from what I understand.

I saw him in Tulsa around 1971-ish. Foxy Lady had just come out.

First Concert Ever for me.

Gee, so what did they do to ‘kill” Janis Joplin who’s death was about the same time?

Leftist hippie conspiracy theory.

It’s spread since the 60’s like Wuhan flu out of New York.

I’m sure that the barbiturates Hendrix was so fond of, and which he had in his system on the day of his death at 18 times the recommended dosage, had nothing to do with him aspirating on his own vomit. No doubt it was all a racist conspiracy.

I thought it was Bill Gates with the COVID who killed him.

Could have been Hillary with the cleaning wipes.

And waited until he was 27, so it would look more like he was just joining the club - what a crafty minion of Satan!

...there was no African-American guitar player of the time playing rock to a wide audience as he was doing.

I beg to differ: Chuck Berry, an outstanding guitarist and widely loved.

175 million was a lot of do re me in 1969. I doubt Hendrix was worth anything near that. Even today 175 million is a nice pile of shekels.

His net worth today is $175M. It wasn’t when he died, nor is it even conceivable that it would have been. Paul McCartney had a net worth of $10M in those days.

The CURRENT value of Hendrix’s estate is said to be $175 million. It was nowhere close to that when he died.
